Countrywide Financial received financial advice from Sandler O'Neill & Partners LP and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in its $4 billion acquisition by Bank of America, which was announced this morning. Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz counseled the target.  BofA was was advised by Banc of America Securities and the law firms of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton LLP and K&L Gates. - The editors
