British Sky Broadcasting Group plc-ITV plc Out of Europe Tuesday morning, the U.K.'s Business and Enterprise Secretary John Hutton orders Rupert Murdoch's BSkyB to cut its 17.9% holding in broadcaster ITV to less than 7.5% on the advice of the Competition Commission.
Hutton's ruling dispels a previous rule of thumb that a 20% threshold was appropriate for U.K. media cross-ownership, but the situation may change if BSkyB appeals.
