The merger of Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. and XM Satellite Holdings Inc. is crawling down a long and winding road to surpass its one-year mark. As the long-delayed proposed merger has no resolution in sight, and the economy is expected to worsen, prospects for profit seem to dim for these companies as standalone entities. So Wall Street will certainly be eager to get a glimpse of Sirius' fourth-quarter earnings Tuesday. Analysts expect Sirius to post a loss of 13 cents per share while XM is expected to announce a loss of 64 cents a share on Thursday, according to a Thomson First Call survey.
