Pernod Ricard SA- V&S Vin & Sprit Group
The €12 billion ($18.87 billion) loan backing French spirits maker Pernod Ricard's acquisition of Sweden's Vin & Sprit is expected to be launched to a wider syndication on Tuesday, according to banking sources.

Sellaband.com-Prime Technology Ventures
Dutch-based online music Web site Sellaband.com said on Tuesday that European venture capital fund Prime Technology Ventures has invested $5 million in the company to help it expand in the U.S.

Press reports say Co-op is in exclusive negotiations to buy Somerfield, the No. 5 U.K. supermarket group, for between £1.7 billion and £2 billion ($3.4 billion  and $3.9 billion).

BNP Paribas SA-U.K. insurers
BNP said it had bought two U.K. insurers, Direct Life & Pension Services Ltd. and Warranty Direct, to boost its presence in the U.K. insurance market. The bank also said it wouldn't revise down its investment baking profit target -- reinforcing its status as one of the few major European banks to have come through the subprime crisis practically unscathed.

Xafinity-Hazell Carr
Duke Street Capital portfolio company Xafinity, a provider of pensions software bought competor Hazell Carr for an undisclosed price to create a business with revenues in excess of £125 million.

Kidsunlimited-Lloyds TSB Group plc
ISIS Equity Partners LLP has sold children's nurseries operator Kidsunlimited, to Lloyds TSB Development Capital in a £45 million deal.
