Scores West's sale may go dry

No_beer.jpgStripped of its right to serve alcohol at gentleman's club Score's West on Manhattan's West Side, owner Go West Entertainment Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection so that it could try to continue operating under its license to sell liquor.

Go West officially sought a temporary restraining order from the bankruptcy court that would allow the strip club to serve alcohol despite a New York appellate court's order allowing the New York State Liquor Authority to revoke its liquor license, but its request was denied.

Additionally, the company disclosed in filings with the Manhattan court that it has been negotiating with "a party potentially interested" in buying its business.

Go West's problems began on Jan. 24, when five of its entertainers were arrested on prostitution charges by undercover officers from the New York Police Department's vice squad.
