Emerald Hilton Davis LLC acquired the carbon black dispersions business of Wolstenholme International Inc. from London private equity firm Rutland Partners for an undisclosed price. Emerald Hilton Davis hired Douglas Gessner, Jeremy Liss, Derek Vander Heide, Jocleyn Hirsch, John Glassgow and Michael Snow of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Wolstenholme International's law firm was Seyforth Shaw LLP. It used investment bankers Jean Cayanni and Paul Teuten of RSM EquicCo Capital Markets LLC.

Emerald Hilton's business director, James Donnelly, said the acquisition will give his company a chance to sell black dispersions. As part of the deal, Emerald has also acquired Wolstenholme's Chicago manufacturing facility.
