Pearlstine leaves Carlyle for Bloomberg

After putting in two years at private equity giant the Carlyle Group, Norman Pearlstine is headed back into media, taking a newly created post of chief content officer at Bloomberg LP.

The former head of Time Inc. will "seek growth opportunities for [Bloomberg's] television, radio, magazine and online products," according to a statement released by Bloomberg.
 
Pearlstine joined Carlyle, long known for its recruitment of influential personnel from business and government, in mid-2006 as a senior adviser in the Washington-based firm's New York office to help identify investments, business opportunities and trends in the media sector. Prior to joining Carlyle, Pearlstine was editor in chief at Time for eleven years. - George White
