Liquidating Texas meat packer American Halal Meat Processors Inc. wants a 60-day extension of its sole right to file a plan that would pay all creditors in full. The Chapter 11 petition of the operator of a single meat packing plant was converted to Chapter 7 liquidation in April, and American Halal wants to extend its exclusivity past its current June 30 deadline. - Terry Brennan

Greektown can tap $150M
Bankrupt Detroit casino operator Greektown Holdings LLC has been permitted to use all of a $150 million debtor-in-possession loan that maps out a timeline for a sale or a reorganization in mid-2009. - Ben Fidler
