Staples raised its unsolicited offer for Corporate Express to nearly $2.6 billion Tuesday, and Corporate Express said it would "carefully review" the increased offer.

Staples has been pursuing Corporate Express since February, when it put forth an offer of €7.25 per share. The Framingham, Mass.-based suitor sweetened its bid twice.
