Zell seeks options on Tribune buildings

Real estate tycoon-turned-publisher Sam Zell on Wednesday marked Tribune Co.'s office buildings in Chicago and Los Angeles for strategic review. Tribune said it would try to maximize value for Tribune Tower and Times Mirror Square, but would keep a stake in the properties. A spokesman declined to clarify if this means the company would sell a stake in the properties, but maintain equity holdings for tax purposes. The publisher and broadcaster is also shopping the Chicago Cubs baseball team and Wrigley Field. — Chris Nolter
