Concession wanted on Sat-radio deal

The five asked Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin to increase the amount of spectrum allotted for non-commercial public service, minority broadcasters and emergency services as a condition of approving the $13 billion deal. Sirius is offering to set aside 8% of the combined company's spectrum, but the Minnesota lawmakers called for 25% allotment in a June 27 letter to Martin. - Ron Orol
