Brewer InBev SA went on the offensive Monday, naming its "dream team" for the board of Anheuser-Busch Cos. as it prepares to file the requisite SEC documents to press ahead with its campaign to oust the 13 incumbents. Its roster of would-be board members includes Adolphus Busch IV, the uncle of current president and CEO August Busch IV. Adolphus Bush has urged Anheuser-Busch to back InBev's unsolicited $46.3 billion offer, and his selection by InBev could spark a volatile battle among members of the founding family.

A German pharmaceutical company is proving more adept than the Belgian brewer in charming its U.S. peer group. On Monday, Fresenius SE agreed to pay up to $5.6 billion including debt for APP Pharmaceuticals Inc. to secure a U.S. foothold for its intravenous drugs business. While its own shareholders fretted about financing, APP founder Patrick Soon-Shiong, who holds 80% of the voting rights in Schaumburg, Ill.-based APP, has already signed up to the deal. - Laura Board
