Share, who had his beginnings at Lazard, was most recently a managing director at Fortress Investment Group, focusing on financial services and insurance investments. Before Fortress, Share was a VP at Madison Dearborn Partners, where he worked in the media and communications sectors. Share should beef up the buyouts practice at Moelis, something founder Ken Moelis spoke to The Deal about at our Private Capital Symposium in July.

Moelis has been on somewhat of a high-profile hiring spree. In July, Thane Carlston and William Derrough joined as co-heads of the firm's restructuring group, based in New York. Both spent the last decade at Jefferies & Co. Also in July, Moelis tapped 18-year Morgan Stanley veteran Peter Vogelsang as a MD and general counsel. Vogelsang was co-head of coverage for investment banking at Morgan, focused on mergers and acquisitions.

In June, Greg Shaia came in as a managing director in New York to lead coverage in the consumer and retail sector. Shaia arrived from Bear Stearns Cos., where he was head of retail and apparel investment banking. In 2004, Bear poached Shaia from Citigroup Inc., where he was an MD in the consumer and healthcare group.

Just days before Shaia's move, Moelis took on Ken Viellieu as a managing director and head of its Chicago office. Viellieu was previously with Bear, which he joined in 2001 as a senior MD and was head of Midwest investment banking. Before that, he was co-head of Midwest investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Inc.
