Citadel poaches two from Merrill

Citadel Investment Group LLC made two senior hires from Merrill Lynch & Co. to lead its capital development efforts in Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa. Tobias Gehrke and Anita Nassar will join Citadel as co-heads of international distribution and marketing. At Merrill, they were co-heads of government institutional sales.

Nassar was with Merrill since 2006, and served as head of central banks and sovereign wealth funds. Previously, she was with HSBC Holdings plc as head of central bank and government sales, serving Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Gehrke joined Merrill in 2004. He led the government institutions group for the equities and alternatives businesses, working closely with top sovereign pension and wealth funds. Gehrke was with Goldman, Sachs & Co. from 1998 to 2004 in equity derivatives sales. - Baz Hiralal
