Bank Watch: Dow dives, takes banks with it

U.S. stocks took a pounding Monday morning as fears over the financial crisis echoed around the world, despite the House finally passing a bailout bill Friday. The Dow sunk over 300 points in early morning trading, the Nasdaq was down 74 points, and the S&P 500 slipped 37 points. Citigroup Inc., Bank of America Corp. and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. all dropped 5%. National City was down more than 20%, while Sovereign Bancorp sunk 10%. - Maria Woehr
