Markets took off with the last day of the presidential election campaign and the economy being a major issue in the election. The Dow was up 136.36 points at 9,456.19, the S&P 500 was up 16.89 points at 983.19, and the Nasdaq was up 15.19 points at 1,741.52.

Banks started the day off in the clear. The election will no doubt have an impact on
M&A and the economy, but one of the major challenges will be the liquidity crisis that is directly impacting banks. Goldman, Sachs & Co. took a hit Tuesday morning after
news that one of its hedge funds launched just 10 months ago has already lost $989 million and on analysts comments that
Goldman Sachs will likely post a fourth-quarter loss.
