HSBC Holdings plc
was down on plans to cut 500 jobs in Asia. Meanwhile,
Barclays plc was down even though it tried to appease shareholders by forgoing bonuses and letting existing
stockholders in on a share issue that was set aside for Middle Eastern investors. Lloyds TSB Group plc is also down as shareholders get prepared to vote on the
Lloyds-HBOS plc deal Wednesday.
