The credit crunch Grinch is making an early arrival at Morgan Stanley this year as the Christmas party becomes a casualty of the investment bank's troubles.
The New York Post obtained a Morgan Stanley internal memo revealing the
bank's intention to cancel all plans for Christmas festivities this
year. Holiday celebrations being taken off the table adds to the layoffs
and belt-tightening going on across Wall Street, with more bad news
likely to come before the year is out as members of Congress jump on the anti-bonus bandwagon, which may mean there won't be any presents either. - George White
