It was a rough day for bank stocks and across the board. The Dow dropped 679.95 points to 8,149.09, the
S&P 500 fell 80.03 points to 816.21, and the Nasdaq slipped 137.50 points to 1,398.07.

Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. stocks dove after
Deutsche Bank AG analyst Mike Mayo lowered EPS estimates on the banks. Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs
plans to sell €1.5 billion ($1.9 billion) of three-year government-backed bonds to convert over to a bank holding company.
J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. took a hit after it announced Monday that it plans to lay off 9,200 employees at recently acquired Washington Mutual Inc.
