Economic woes sent the markets south Thursday. The Dow ended down 215.45 points at 8,376.24, the S&P 500 fell 25.52 points to 845.22, and the Nasdaq sunk 46.82 points to 1,445.56. Bank stocks started the day off in the green, but slipped during the day. Meanwhile,
reports surfaced that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson may ask Congress for the remaining $350 billion of the financial bailout fund.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. stocks dropped after it rejected
another bid from Panasonic Corp. for its near-30% stake in Sanyo Electric Co. Morgan Stanley's stock was up. The bank is suing Discover Financial Services for not paying $1.2 billion after the company spun off last year. Discover has sued
Morgan Stanley, claiming that the bank held secret talks with Visa Inc. and MasterCard Inc., which backed the credit company into a $2.75 billion legal settlement in October.
