Trump involved in $40M suit over missed payment

062807_dtrump.pngBillionaire Donald Trump's wallet must feel a bit lighter these days as the real estate sector is experiencing a major down cycle. He's hurting so bad that Deutsche Bank Trust Co. Americas filed suit against the developer, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Deutsche is suing Trump for missing a $40 million payment after defaulting on a $640 million construction loan for Trump International Hotel & Tower, a Chicago tower that is expected to stand at 92 stories, which would make it the second-tallest building in the U.S.

The suit is the second one over the last month related to the Chicago project. The most recent Deustche suit calls for Trump to make good on the personal payment guarantee he signed in February 2005 for the building if he didn't make the loan payments on time. - Gerald Magpily
