BANKRUPTCY FINANCING There was a boom in bankruptcy financing last year. In fact, debtor-in-possession financing in 2008 was at the highest level it's been for at least five years, in terms of both the number and volume of commitments. The $18.1 billion in DIP volume represented a 33% increase vis-à-vis the $13.6 billion registered in 2007. The number of deals, meanwhile, jumped 41% to 328, from the 232 recorded in the previous year.
