We also thought we'd ease back in to scaring you about the imminent end by not posting this Sign of the Apocalypse until Tuesday. In our latest sign the end is near, Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman has started the new year on an unusually dour note in his first New York Times column of 2009 entitled "Fighting off Depression" where he outlines his nightmare: a 21st century Great Depression. Hopefully this news doesn't ruin your new year. - Matthew Wurtzel
