CD&R, Warburg walk from AIG auction

Private equity firms Clayton, Dubilier & Rice Inc. and Warburg Pincus LLC have dropped out of the bidding for American International Group Inc.'s adviser group division, leaving GTCR Golder Rauner LLC and several new bidders.

CD&R and Warburg dropped out in the past two weeks, one source said, while Chicago's GTCR remains in the running. Meanwhile, an AIG spokesman said other potential bidders have recently surfaced.
