CF Industries rejects Agrium's latest offer (Dealscape

Agrium Inc.'s sweetened bid for rival fertilizer company CF Industries Inc. was not enough for it to prevail in the three-way industry takeover battle.

CF said late Sunday that its board rejected the Calgary, Alberta-based fertilizer company's revised takeover offer of about $3.8 billion, calling it "grossly inadequate." CF also said the deal substantially undervalues the company and is not in the best interests of the company and its shareholders.
