Hiring: Standard Chartered seeks bankers

you're hired125b.pngStandard Chartered plc plans to hire more senior managers and private bankers this year. The bank is "aggressively hiring" relationship managers for its private banking business, according to Bloomberg.

The bank is in a unique position in that it is one of few that has no plans for job cuts. Instead the bank had a "strong" first two months of the year and will continue to expand, including possible acquisitions in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, said CEO Peter Sands.

Standard Chartered has been adding members to its senior consumer banking management team, and in early March the bank announced it was increasing the number of sub-branches in China this year from 11 to 15. - Maria Woehr
