Speaking at The Deal LLC's Healthcare Dealmaking Symposium, Susan Berson, a senior member in Mintz Levin's health law practice, discussed the government's new push for healthcare reform.
"There are huge opportunities being created by the government's introduction of reform into the market," she said.

"The government doesn't really understand healthcare," she said. "There is a fundamental need to educate the agencies and Congress as to what programs do and why they were set up as preventive medicine.
"There are three buzzwords used during the campaign that the administration will key in on: quality, affordability and transparency," Berson said. "There's going to be an increased shift in focus, and it's going to be harder to bet on what types of companies are going to be successful in the new environment.
