Paper cuts: Forbes, Tampa Tribune and more

  Share     E-Mail    Discussion    Print Story

stackofnewspapers125x100.jpgForbes Media LLC has cut another 50 jobs on its editorial and business team, according to MediaMemo. This round of reductions is blamed on the usual suspects: abysmal advertising and lower subscription because of the atrocious economy. The cuts follow reductions in November and January, when the company was integrating its Web and print staff.

The Tampa Tribune announced it cut 53 employees, primarily in operations rather than the newsroom. Meanwhile, Winston-Salem Journal of North Carolina shuttered 13 jobs Monday and announced another 10 open positions would not be filled. The cuts span the newsroom, production, advertising, circulation and finance departments. - Gerald Magpily
