Dave Schappell, the CEO and founder of Seattle's TeachStreet, stopped by The Deal's Manhattan studio when he was in town for Union Square Ventures' recent invitation-only confab on Hacking Education. In this episode of our Behind the Money video show, Schappell shared his views about what's wrong with the current education system and how the Internet might help fix it.
TeachStreet, which uses the Web to connect students with instructors in a wide
range of fields from piano to yoga, is backed by a 2008 $2.2 million Series A, led by Madrona Venture Group, with participation from Bezos Expeditions and several Seattle angels.

Hey Mary Kathleen -- well, it's always uncomfortable to see yourself on film, but you did the best you could with the subject in front of you! Really, it was great to finally meet with you in person and I really enjoyed the conversation (and even moreso, the long chat afterward!).
I'm really looking forward to finally having TeachStreet working in a big way in New York City, so I can finally answer you're question "Are you live in New York yet?" in the affirmative :-)
