About the same time Michael Arrington of TechCrunch published a rumor of a possible Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) acquisition of privately held Twitter Inc., Biz Stone, a Twitter co-founder, appeared on Comedy Central's "Colbert Report" where faux-pundit host Stephen Colbert spent seven minutes poking fun at the Twitter business model -- while simultaneously twittering about the interview. Did Colbert's comparison of Twitter to Pets.com prompt Google executives to give pause on pulling the trigger on a purchase? - Matthew Wurtzel
