More finance layoffs have been announced Friday at HSBC Holdings plc (NYSE:HSBC) and Nomura Holdings Inc. (NYSE: NMR) and two private equity fundraising firms.
- William Blair has shut its private equity fundraising group. William Blair placement agents plan to continue to work together, possibly through creating a new fund marketing firm, according to peHUB.
- Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) also shut its private equity fundraising group. The group had 45 people on staff, according to Deal Journal.
- HSBC is closing its stock research and trading businesses in Japan. About 40 people will be laid off, according to Bloomberg.
- Nomura said it was not ruling out further layoffs after reporting a record $7.3 billion annual loss, according to AFP.
It's rough out there, but there are
jobs to be found. Jefferies Group Inc., Cantor Fitzgerald LP and BTIG LLC
