The latest layoff rumors involve UBS (NYSE:UBS), HSBC Holdings plc (NYSE:HSBC) and various regional banks. Here's a roundup:

UBS' U.S. brokerage business will lay off lower-producing financial advisers, according to The Wall Street Journal. Meanwhile, the Swiss firm is expected to begin layoffs at home, and will likely include departments such as marketing, according to DealBook.

Another European bank expected to cut back in the U.S. is HSBC. The London-based bank reportedly may lay off staff in it's Chesapeake, Va., call center as part of its larger restructuring, according to The Virginian-Pilot.

New Frontier Bank of Greeley, Colo., was shut down Friday by the Federal Deposit Insurance Co. Its 250 employees are expected to be out of a job come May 8, according to The Greeley Tribune.

It's rough out there, but there are jobs. Numoda Capital Innovations LP is hiring a professional with venture capital and investment banking experience who will serve as its managing director, according to The Wall Street Journal. Also America's Growth Capital is interested in hiring additional senior tech bankers, according to the Journal.
