Unfortunately for bankers those pink slips are piling up, especially over at UBS (NYSE:UBS), which is planning on cutting another 11% of its staff, or 8,700 employees, after reporting a first-quarter loss of $1.74 billion. Nearly one-third of the bank's employees are in Switzerland, and 2,500 of the job cuts will be there, according to GenevaLunch.
On the smaller side, insurer MassMutual Financial Group laid off 65 workers in Enfield, Mass., this week, according to The Republican of Springfield, Mass.
