Wireless networking chip Quantenna Communications Inc. has raised $13.85 million in a Series C funding round led by Southern Cross Venture Partners. Existing investors Grazia Equity GmbH, Sequoia Capital, Sigma Partners and Venrock Associates also participated.
The company's high-speed Wi-Fi chips are used in home residential gateways, set-top boxes, routers, high-definition televisions and
consumer electronic devices that require high bandwidth and reliability to
support home HD video distribution and networking over standard Wi-Fi
networks, Quantenna said.
The Silicon Valley startup has raised a total of over $42 million in financing since it was founded three years ago; it announced a
Series B round in November 2007. It was launched by chairman Behrooz Rezvani, who also founded Sequoia-backed Ikanos Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:IKAN) and took the chipmaker public in 2005.
