Tyco Electronics to sell wireless unit

Posted on April 17, 2009 12:52 PM
Tyco Electronics Ltd. has agreed to sell its wireless systems division to Harris Corp. for $675 million, the companies announced Thursday. Harris will finance the acquisition with cash, borrowings under its $750 million revolving credit line and long-term debt.

Under the terms of the deal, expected to close July 3, Harris will pay $675 million in cash with the resulting goodwill creating a tax adjustment of about $60 million. This makes the effective purchase price about $615 million.
