Doerr, whose firm includes green technology as a focus and aims to make a bundle off the government's effort to build a green economy, presented President Obama and his staff the board's recommendations on how to enhance the U.S. economy by creating a comprehensive energy plan the board says will generate millions of clean energy jobs.

In addition to holding a photo op with the president, Doerr and the board presented him with a memo supporting "a market-based cap and trade system" for energy emissions that is "both economically sustainable and environmentally sound." - Bill McConnell
