R.H. Donnelley files for Chapter 11

R.H. Donnelley Corp. has filed for bankruptcy protection with a plan that would cut more than $6 billion of the yellow pages publisher's debt.

The Cary, N.C., directories publishing giant lodged a Chapter 11 petition Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware in Wilmington. RHD had $11.88 billion in assets and $12.37 billion in debts as of Dec. 31.
