bartz,-carol-125x100.jpgYahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) CEO Carol Bartz finally gave a touch -- just a touch, mind you -- on the status of search deal talks with Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT). Speaking at All Things Digital's D7 conference Wednesday in Carlsbad, Calif., Bartz came out and confirmed that such talks are indeed happening, "a little bit," at least.

Then she said that for Yahoo! to agree to sell its search business to Microsoft, it would take lots of cash.

"If there's boatloads of money and the right technology involved, would we do a deal? Sure," Bartz said. "It's that simple."

No big news there either, but at least such a transaction is on the table. When former Yahoo! CEO Jerry Yang, trying to convince Bartz to consider taking the top job, drew her an organizational chart of the company's management structure, "He drew arrows everywhere. It looked like a Dilbert cartoon," she told All Things D's Kara Swisher. Convinced that the companies hierarchy was a mess and that she could fix it, she took the job.
