White House offers glimpse of new regulatory framework

The Obama administration revealed a glimpse of its new regulatory framework to be released this week, which will target capital requirements, securitization and other areas that contributed to the global financial crisis.

While portions of the plan have been leaking for weeks, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council Chairman Lawrence Summers gave the most complete overview to date of the framework in an op-ed piece in Monday's Washington Post.
