Bad news for bankers this Friday. The latest rumors of layoffs and reports are at Bank of America Corp. (NYSE:BAC) and Metropolitan National Bank.
Employees at Bank of America have been anxiously awaiting news as the bank trims down its branches and plans more
layoffs. Some of the luckier employees at two BofA New Hampshire branches
will not lose their jobs when the branches shut down Friday, according to The Nashua Telegraph. Keeping track of the layoffs could be challenging considering loopholes in Warn notices. (Warn refers to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.)
We'll keep our ears open for rumors and reports of branch closings until a formal list of the branch closings is released.
Meanwhile, news isn't so good for Metropolitan National Bank, which
laid off 45 employees, according to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette
