Reports indicate layoffs are slowing. U.S. private employers cut 473,000 jobs in June, according to ADP Employer Services, and, based on numbers released by consultancy Challenger, Gray & Christmas, planned job cuts announced by employers totaled 74,393 in June, according to
CNBC.
Even though layoffs may be down, there are still announcements. The latest rumors and reports of layoffs are at Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE:WFC), Chrysler Financial and Pamrapo Savings Bank/BCB
Community Bank.
- Wells
Fargo servicing center for auto financing has cut around 50 jobs, according to Inside Bay Area.
- Pamrapo Savings Bank is merging with BCB
Community Bank. No word on layoffs yet, according to NJ.com.
It's a tough employment market for
financial professionals, but there are
jobs as companies are
hiring. In fact, Barclays Capital and Bank of America Corp. (NYSE:BAC) are
