Long after everyone had given up on a consolidation of Germany's computer services industry, Software AG, late on Monday, surprised with a €482 million ($674.7 million) offer for business-process management company IDS Scheer AG.
Darmstadt-based Software AG, Germany's second-largest software maker, said it would buy 48% of the target from its two founders and offer remaining shareholders €15 per IDS Scheer share, a 39% premium to the stock's Monday close.
