InBev to sell four manufacturing plants to Ball Corp.

Posted on July 1, 2009 4:00 PM
Packaging products maker Ball Corp. moved Wednesday to expand its beverage can business, agreeing to acquire four U.S. manufacturing plants from brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev NV for $577 million.

Broomfield, Colo.-based Ball said it expects the plants to generate revenue and Ebitda of about $680 million and $94 million, respectively, during their first full year of operation. Company chairman and chief executive R. David Hoover in a statement said the transaction was an opportunity for Ball to boost its beverage business by swallowing high-quality assets.
