Roark Capital takes Pet Valu private (Dealscape

Atlanta private equity firm Roark Capital Group has struck a deal to take Pet Valu Inc. private for C$143.7 million ($123.9 million), the target said Monday, July 6. Under the agreement, Roark will pay C$13.68 in cash per share of the Markham, Ontario, pet food and supplies retailer.

The offer is only slightly above its trading price Monday of C$13.50, giving it a market capitalization of about C$133 million. The price tag falls below the company's 52-week high of C$14.78, but well above a 52-week low of C$8.25.
