Thoma Bravo sweetens Entrust bid

Posted on July 10, 2009 4:25 PM

Entrust Inc. and Thoma Bravo LLC are offering shareholders a sweetened deal to try to close a buyout.

The Dallas Internet security company and Chicago private equity firm announced an amended merger agreement July 10, whereby Thoma will purchase Entrust for $2 a share, or $124 million in cash.

These new terms constitute an 8% premium to Thoma's original offer of about $1.85 a share, or $115 million, from April 13.
