Finance Layoffs: NewStar Financial

pinkslips_transparent_125x100.gifCompanies in the U.S. increased cuts this month to 254,000, ADP Employers Service told Bloomberg. That's bad news for the finance industry, which may face more losses. The latest reports and rumors of layoffs are at New Star Financial.

  • NewStar Financial has laid off 29 employees. This is the company's second round of layoffs, according to peHUB.
Even though several companies are laying off employees, several are also hiring. Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE:WFC) East Coast banking head Laura Schulte told The Charlotte Observer "that she doesn't know of any more major layoffs in the works.
