Mickey Mouse125.pngWalt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS) swooped in on Monday in true superhero style, scooping up comic book (and character licensing) giant Marvel Entertainment Inc. (NYSE:MVL) for $4 billion. But that's not all the company has been up to.

According to The Deal Pipeline, Disney has made four announced mergers over the last two years, and has participated in several joint ventures via its private equity vehicle Steamboat Ventures and the Walt Disney Internet Group. Disney's buy out of Marvel will also expand it's target to young boys. And because of Disney's media network, Marvel's distinct characters will have the chance to reach viewers that they may not have met yet.
