The times they are a-changin' for Dylan and Citi

Dylan_Bob_125x100.jpgYes, it seems the times are a-changin' for Bob Dylan. Dylan is not only producing a first-ever Christmas album, but ahead of its Oct. 13 release date, Citigroup Inc.'s (NYSE:C) ThankYou Network customers will receive it first, according to PRNewswire. So much for protests and not selling out to corporate America.

There's nothing that screams sell out more than a Christmas album --  especially when the musician has attended Yom Kippur services in the past few years as Dylan has.

What's more bizarre, however, is that Dylan is teaming up with Citigroup, one of the largest banks in the country, to make his album available to its customers one week before everyone else. Yes, that would be showing favoritism to a large corporate bank that recently accepted a bailout from taxpayers and is owned by the U.S. Citi partnered with Dylan because the bank expects that it will have high appeal to its customers.

Just in case you are wondering what's on the album, here's the track list, and you can listen to a track here:

1. Here Comes Santa Claus (Gene Autry, Oakley Haldeman)
2. Do You Hear What I Hear? (Noel Regney, Gloria Shayne)
3. Winter Wonderland (Richard B. Smith, Felix Bernard )
4. Hark the Herald Angels Sing (Traditional )
5 I'll Be Home For Christmas (Walter Kent, Kim Gannon, Buck Ram)
6. Little Drummer Boy (Katherine Davis, Henry V. Onorati, Harry Simeone)
7. The Christmas Blues (David Jack Holt, Sammy Cahn)
8. O' Come all Ye Faithful (Adeste Fideles) (Traditional )
9. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (Ralph Blane, Hugh Martin )
10. Must be Santa (Hal Moore, Bill Fredricks )
11. Silver Bells (Raymond B. Evans, Jay Livingston)
12. The First Noel (Traditional)
13. Christmas Island (Lyle Moraine)
14. The Christmas Song (Mel Tormé, Robert Wells)
15. O' Little Town of Bethlehem (Traditional)

Obviously he left out, "Everyone Must Drink Nog." To be fair though, Dylan's new "Christmas In The Heart" has good intentions. Its U.S. royalties will be donated to Feeding America. But, Dylan's relations with Citigroup still feels odd. - Maria Woehr
