Biden praises dealmakers

  Share     E-Mail    Discussion    Print Story

While the Obama administration lambastes highly paid Wall Street types and uses them as a boogeyman for populist points, Vice President Joe Biden amid a populist filled speech about autoworkers praised dealmakers for taking a risk on a new idea. Speaking at the Fisker Automotive Inc. agreement to buy Motors Liquidation Corp.'s former GM plant in Wilmington, Del., on Tuesday, Biden commended the automotive startup's investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Palo Alto Investors LLC, who were present at the ceremony. The video of the ceremonies is an hour and 16 minutes long, and Biden is the last speaker, starting at 52:45. It takes him nearly 15 minutes of stories about the workers and patriotic rhetoric before he specifically praises Kleiner Perkins' Ray Lane at the 1:07:25 mark. - Matthew Wurtzel
