Bloomberg snares BusinessWeek

Posted on October 14, 2009 3:00 PM
Bloomberg LP has agreed to buy BusinessWeek. The financial news and information provider announced late Tuesday that it had agreed to acquire the business news magazine from New York's McGraw-Hill Cos. Terms were not disclosed, but the price is believed to range from $15 million to $40 million.

The move closes a three-month auction. "BusinessWeek, with its extraordinary context and perspective on the economy and companies, presents a giant opportunity for the Bloomberg News service to reach decision makers in the most important industries," said Bloomberg News editor-in-chief Matthew Winkler in a statement.
